Title VI

Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act Requires that:

"No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."

As a recipient of federal financial assistance, SMOOTH, Inc. is subject to the regulations under Title VI, and has established policies to maintain compliance with those regulations.

It is against the policy of SMOOTH, Inc. to discriminate against an individual based upon that person's race, color or national origin. This policy applies to passengers/customers, applicants for employment, current employees, and sub recipients or subcontractors of SMOOTH, Inc.

Title VI complaints may be filed with the SMOOTH Executive Director (Title VI Program Coordinator) by an individual, class, or a third party within 180 calendar days of the alleged discriminatory act. Complaints should be directed to the Executive Director at the SMOOTH Office, 240 East Roemer Way, Santa Maria, CA 93454.
